The Method

Process & Intention

Each painting is a journey from spiritual contemplation to physical expression. Through layers of thick impasto paint and carefully composed calligraphic forms, the artwork emerges as a bridge between the divine and the tangible — a visual manifestation of Noor, the divine light.

01Concept

Every painting begins with spiritual contemplation — finding the intersection of tradition and expression.

02Composition

Laying out calligraphic forms, geometric structures, and color relationships on the canvas.

03Layering

Building up thick impasto layers, each adding depth — sometimes 30 to 40 layers of paint.

04Refinement

Final details, color balancing, and spiritual intention — ensuring the painting carries energy.

“I want you to feel the painting before you understand it.”

M.A. Bukhari

On his artistic philosophy

My work is a bridge — between the spiritual and the material, the ancient and the contemporary, the word and the image.

On Islamic calligraphy

Calligraphy is not decoration to me. It is the architecture of the soul, each letter a weight-bearing column of meaning.

On impasto technique

The thickness of the paint is not a style choice — it is an insistence. I want you to feel the painting before you understand it.
